About our incubator

Why Caelestinus? Well, it means heavenly in Latin. We want you to reach for the stars. This is a nice but cliché way of explaining our incubator’s name origin. There is another source of inspiration though. A man named Caelestinus Opitz. Caelestinus performed the first surgery in Europe under anesthesia in Prague on 7 February 1847. Caelestinus was a healthtech hero who ushered in the era of modern surgery. We want you to be such heroes.

Having organized tens of global hackathons we realized that we do not wish to stop when awards have been given away. We want to help teams develop their ideas further, turning them into prototypes with market validation. “Healthcare is difficult and takes ages” we often hear from investors. We know. That is why we are offering a chance for committed healthcare innovators to join our incubator to:
- consolidate the team and incorporate,
- meet top experts and turn the idea into a high potential and scalable product or service,
- pitch their startup to top global healthcare clients and investors,
- have fun along the way.

With our partners we started a Digital Health Interoperability and FHIR Incubator that will help your startup walk through the design thinking process, validate your prototype in TOP healthcare providers, roll-out your business and get investment money to be able to develop a certified medical product.

The first startups 17 incubated startups took part in 2022. As well as a year later, the participant satisfaction rate was with the humble words high. Will you join us for the next batch? We will help you navigate through the rough waters of medicine, technology, laws, regulations, patents, investment, finance, and marketing. Together with our partners, we will help you build a startup to make hearts beat longer.

Join in and be a hero. Be Caelestinus.
